Browsers

These are web browsers available for Windows and Mac OS.

Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is an Open Source, community developed, free web browser. It includes features such as tabbed browsing, built in pop-up blocking, anti-phishing, RSS feed integration, can be extended using "Extensions", and can use "Themes". Firefox is available for Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and a number of other operating systems.
Mozilla
Mozilla is the former flagship of the Mozilla project. It includes a Web Browser, Email client, and IRC chat client. It has features such as pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, "Extensions", and can use "Themes". This browser is being phased out by the Mozilla project in favor of Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird. Like Firefox, it is Open Source, and therefore free. It is available for Windows, Macintosh, and a variety of other operating systems.
Chrome
A relatively new web browser from Google, Chrome is probably the faster browser around.  It features a simplified, clean interface with tabbed browsing, and several innovative features.  This is definitely a must have browser.
Netscape
Netscape was the first mainstream Web Browser, it is now based on the Mozilla project, so it has all of the features of Mozilla browsers, including pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, extensions, and themes. Netscape also includes AOL Instant Messenger and an email program called Netscape Messenger built-in. Netscape is free to use.
Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows
Microsoft Internet Explorer is the most commonly used Web Browser on the planet. It is included with every version of Windows. You can download the newest version of Internet Explorer for Windows from here.
Microsoft Internet Explorer for Macintosh
Microsoft's Internet Explorer is also available on the Macintosh, for Mac OS 9 and X.
Opera
An alternative web browser with built in email, RSS reader, tabbed browsing, and much more. It is available for Macintosh, Windows, Linux, and a variety of other operating systems. There are paid and ad-supported versions available.
OmniWeb
OmniWeb is a browser for Macintosh that uses the same display technology as Safari, but includes graphical tabs, workspaces, pop-up blocking, site-specific preferences, and a number of other useful features. OmniWeb is free to try, but costs $29.95. OmniWeb is for Mac OS X only.
Safari
Safari is Apple Computer's web browser for Macintosh, and is the fastest browser currently available for Macintosh. It is included with any version of Mac OS X newer than 10.1.
