As you will recall, we recently experienced flooding resulting from many days of continuous rain which caused the Virgin River to overflow its banks. Some of us had water up to our homes and some may even have gotten their feet wet! So, for your information, and possible future need, sand bags are available at the town's recreation hall and sand can be made available to those not able to get river bank sand - just call the Town Clerk, the Mayor or a Town Council member should the need arise once again.

I mentioned in the last newsletter that we had received 5" of moisture already in our water year. As of this writing, we are now at over 16". I believe that this January will go down as one of the wettest. I haven't seen the old Virgin River flow that big since December of 1966. I believe the CFS during the last eventwas 4500 and in 1966 it was 9100. This should be a good wakeup to everyone as to where we build in our community.
On another note, I would like to remind residents that if you have a road problem please let me know and I will try to get it taken care of as soon as possible, either
I with our town equipment or with Allen Lee, as soon as he can get to ill realize that the road to the south bench has been a problem all winter as well as the Grafton Road. I would urge folks that do not have to travel on those roads during extreme wet conditions to limit travel. It only makes it worse for the ones that have to use them to get home or to property. If I am not available please let Mayor McGuire know that you have a problem so it can be taken care of. ,Also, please remember that if you arrange for work to be I done on the roads yourself, that it is your responsibility to cover the cost.

Last year we did not have enough stockholders in attendance to make an official vote in the meeting. If you are unable to attend, please assign your vote to another shareholder by turning in your proxy that was mailed to you with your annual statement. If you have any questions regarding the annual meeting or the water turn schedule, please give me a call at 772-0282. Thank you, Alyson Thomas, Secretary.
