| combining the Pipeline Company with the Town of Rock- ville.
This will be a very important meeting and I encour- age you to be there.
I want you to be clear on one point and that is that the Town of Rockville did not initiate this proposal and I'm not at all certain how the Council would vote. The next step is up to the stockholders. In the last newsletter, I spoke of a social we would like to have in January or February. A free event for Rockville and Springdale residents who always support us so well. I'm not certain that we can pull it off before the end of February. I can honestly tell you that I have become "overcome by events. (OBE) and haven't had the time to coordinate this activity. I would certainly welcome a volun- teer to jump up and tell me that they would be willing to organize a "mid-winter picnic". The idea is to have ham- burgers, hot dogs, drinks and all the flXin's and eat inside the big hall with the grill working just outside our kitchen door. If you're the one who can help, please call me. Let me say a few things about our waste collection. Red Rock Waste picks up trash on Thursdays in Rockville unless we are notified otherwise because of Thanksgiving or Christmas. If you have large items to be picked up- such as water heaters, washing machines, refrigerators, etc., you must call Red Rock at 628-2821 BEFORE Thursday and tell them that you have bulky waste to pick up. They will plan to pick it up the day after collection day. If they fail to pick it up, then call them again. You must place the bulky waste at the curb in front of your home. DOn't block the sidewalk and don't have it protrud- ing into the roadWay. Refrigerators to be discarded must e "freon-free.. Call RJ Refrigeration at 862-1598 for that service at a reasonable fee. They will come to Rockville without charging a travel fee. Tree limbs must be bundled and of a size that can fit into a trash container. Cardboard boxes must be broken down and bundled. Red Rock will not pick up carpeting, tires or construction debris. Red Rock Waste does a pretty good job of collecting waste, but often Rockville resembles a disaster area after the trash truck has made its rounds - that's when we need to close ranks and take in the trash cans, pick up any loose litter and return our town to its beautiful self. We all need to do a better job of preserving what we have in Rockville. We need to slow down our driving; we need to stay off muddy roads if at all possible; we need to pick up loose trash after the trash truck has been here; we need to bag all our trash to reduce the fty.;.a-ways; we need to keep our animals under control at all times; we need to turn off all non-essential outside lighting; we all |

we need to actively take care of what we have. Town Council Updates
