GUNHILD ANDREA WANG 1892-1920

I’m so glad you found my site. I want to tell you a little about my site and why I decided to create one. Upon looking around the net late one night looking for genealogy in Norway I signed several guests books, stating who I was, and who I was looking for. The next day I received answers from two people. One young lady, Tami Jenson, Tami@troms-slekt.com living in Utah, and the other, a gentleman Nils Johan Fosli, > nils_johan.fosli@chello.no living in Norway. They invited me to visit their sites and ask me to give them some more information on the families I was looking for. Nils thought I might be related to his wife, and Tami thought I might be related to Her husband. As it turned out, I was related to both. For the next several weeks they not only shared what information they had, they were willing to give much of their time, even doing some researching and translating for me. I was filled with such gratitude and appreciation for what they did for me, I knew then that I would like to share what information I had and be of some service to others, as Tami and Nils had been to me.

Tami has even offered to work on this web site and help me get on line. Especially beings I am a novice with the computer. While working in the Genealogy library in Salt Lake City with Tami Jenson she mentioned a need for a information site on Finnmark. Just as soon as she mentioned Finnmark, I knew that is where I wanted my site to specialize on.

My maternal grandmother, GUNHILD ANDREA WANG, born in Norway on 9 Jan 1892. Immigrated to America about 1914. She married in 1916, and died with TB in 1920. She was only 24 years old. When I think of her parents sending her off to America, not only hoping for a better life for their daughter, but hoping for her to regain her health. Knowing that the chances of ever seeing their daughter again were quite slim. It was very noble and un-selfish of her parents to let her go, and it was very brave, and courageous of my grandmother to come. I appreciate her sacrifice and strength of character. Even though I’ve never met her, I have a great love and tenderness for her I cannot explain. So I would like to dedicate this genealogy site to her, my grandmother, GUNHILD ANDREA WANG, with much love and fondness.

This site is small at the present, but come back again and WATCH ME GROW.
