The Forest Gnome

Physical Appearance: Facial coloring is fair but with red apple cheeks, especially in old age. At 275 years of age, they are in the prime of life. True height is (without cat) 15 cm. Feet are slightly turned inward for fast running over grass, dry leaves, etc. The nose is straight or slightly turned up. The eyes are generally gray, the few variations are due to cross-breeding with trolls in primeval times.

The eyes are surrounded by many wrinkles, mainly laugh wrinkles which doesn't alter the fact that they can all of a sudden look penetratingly serious. Gnomes do not so much see the material presence of those before them, rather they probe the real self and view the landscape therein to such an extent that no secrets remain.

Greetings, Farewells and Goodnights are expressed by rubbing noses. It is said that this allows for a more penetrating glance into the eyes. They have only to glance at someone in the distance and right away they know what is happening in that persons inner self.

There are male and female gnomes. In our daily lives, we come in contact only with the male, because the female almost always stays at home. Since no deaths are caused by illness, the total gnome population remains about the same, with a slight tendency to decrease owing to the few who stay single and others that have fallen victim to accident or animals of prey. Gnome children live with their parents until they are 100 years old carving wooden animals.

Thomas: (feeding birds) Thomas' assigment in the forest is to feed the wild birds and other small animals. He does so willingly as he loves animals.

Eli: (wood hauler) Eli is in charge of hauling wood, never cutting down trees but instead, removing the fallen ones and thereby cleaning up the forest of dead wood.

Louis: (horn dude) Louis has a talent for music and when the gentle breezes blow, Louis then roams the forest making beautiful music as the wind blows through the trees.
