Development Objectives
The objective of the developers of Dammeron Valley is to create a development reflecting an ecological balance with nature. The developers are keenly concerned about the environment; thus providing underground utilities so not to encroach on the beauty of the natural setting.
Streets
The streets are hard surfaced, built to county standards and maintained by the county.
Utilities
Power is served by Utah Power and Light Co. They provide the service cable for the first 100 feet from the service point at the front of each lot. Telephone service is by U.S. West. They charge a $128 hookup fee. Conduit in the streets has been provided for their lines. All service lines must be underground. Water is served by Dammeron Valley Water Works which is owned by The Dammeron Corporation. A standby water rate (currently $10.00 per month) is charged each landowner prior to hookup. The hookup fee is currently $1,000.00 and the rate for water is $1.00 per 1,000 gallons for up to 24,000 gallons per month; over this amount the charge is $1.25 per 1,000 gallons. A $20.00 per month minimum applies to all metered customers. Rates for these utilities are regulated by the Utah Public Service Commission.
Septic tanks for sewage are allowed on all Dammeron Valley lots, except those in Pinion Hills. Pinion Hills is serviced by a sewer collection and disposal system operated by the Dammeron Valley Special Services District (SSD).
Water System
By the early 1990s the original water system was showing it age; causing occasional outages throughout the service area. A major overhaul of the water system was completed in 1995 with the installation of two 250,000 gallon concrete water tanks; one located on the north end and the other at the south end of the valley. New main line pipes were also installed. The tanks are serviced by two wells located on Bonnie Springs Road north east of the valley. Since going on line there has not been an over all water outage. The system is now capable of servicing 500 homesites as well as irrigation for home gardens and small pastures.
Natural Gas
Provided by Questar Gas.
