TOASTMASTERS SPRING CONTESTS
Our area competition will be on Saturday, 29th April, 2000, 10am at Udvar Hazy
Business Building, Dixie State College campus. It is the new building south of the
Gardner Center, which has lots of glass windows on all four sides. Please support the
local clubs, before the winning contestant goes on to
Division E contest, Saturday, May 6, 2000 at 6:30 PM at the WorkForce Services
Building, 5735 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City ( red brick building immediately to
the right when exiting off westbound I 215 West at the Redwood Road exit. This exit is
the first after exiting I 15 onto westbound I 215).
The District Contest will be May 20, 2000 (part of District Conference May 19-20) at the
Ogden Marriott Hotel, 247 24th Street, Ogden. (24th Street exit off Northbound I 15 and
east then across the bridge). The contest will be in the afternoon about 4pm with the
winners announced at the evening banquet.
The winners will then go on to the,
REGION I CONFERENCE IN RENO
June 16 & 17 at Harrah's in Reno, at present the timetable is not at hand, although
sufficient to say it will be a wonderful event and the winners from here will go onto the
International conference in Florida. Will we have a Dixie Tub Thumper at this event?
It all starts at the club level and then the spectacular event in the Dixie College on
Saturday, 29th April, 2000, 10am, please support your members and also the other club
contestents.

The new and exciting website is now up and active. The design is very enriching and wonderful. The choice and the use of colors is well utilized and we must all be very proud of this site. Please tell all of your friends and let the web site build your friends interest in our club.

Please make an effort a very special effort to bring guests to the next
meeting.Guests are the life line of any Toastmaster club and growth is so
critical for Dixie Tub Thumpers, your club.
Bring all your friends and acquaintances to the next meeting. Let’s really fill
the room to capacity and most importantly have a really special happy sincere
smile, bigger and warmer than usual.
The officers of Dixie Tub Thumpers work very hard behind the scenes to ensure that our
club meeting flow smoothly and in general everything does flow smoothly. This does not
mean that we have any room for complacency. We don’t, so please if you have any
suggestions for improvement let one of the club officers know about it, they are all very
experienced listeners and will thank you for your views.

CLUB OFFICER ELECTIONS
A reminder that the Club Constitution - Article VI, Section 6 requires that ALL Clubs hold
their Club Officer Elections at THEIR *FIRST* MEETING IN MAY for officers to serve for
6 or 12 months beginning July 1.
This is a very important event and I ask you all to look inwardly and consider yourself as
a candidate.
We have an excellent group of club officers that have worked behind the scenes to
ensure a smooth running club, let us not let them down, let us all carry this our club onto
even greater heights.
May the name, “DIXIE TUB THUMPERS” be the club that all other clubs, inspire to.
