The St. George, Utah Dixie Tub Thumpers Toastmasters Club is a group of fun-loving, men and women who really enjoy the Toastmasters experience. We meet every Monday morning, almost without fail, even when it falls on Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc. We enjoy each other’'s company so much, that we have to have it every week. We begin our meetings promptly at 7:00 a.m. at the Fairway Grill located at 430 East St. George Boulevard in St. George.
Our Membership
Our Club’s membership roster has ranged from 30 to 50 members and for most of the time is between 35 and 40 members. We anticipate and get over 20 members in attendance at every Monday morning meeting.
Our Certificated Members

Our Dues
Our Club dues are $30.00 every six months, due and payable on or before October 1st and April 1st of each year. For those joining Toastmasters for the first time, there is an additional charge of $16.00 - which is a one time charge - which all goes to Toastmasters International. It covers costs associated with your being placed on their computer roles for life as well as for your monthly Toastmasters magazine and other mailings about conferences, and Toastmasters news, generally. It also entitles you to the first Speaking Manual and lots of other information about Toastmasters in general.
The only other cost involved in attending our weekly meetings is the price of breakfast which runs in the $3.00 to $6.00 range. There is a minimum charge of $3.00 and an automatic 20% tip added to your bill to help cover the cost of the room we use in the restaurant, and to make sure that our waitresses are adequately compensated for "sunrise" service.
Our News Letter
Our Club Publishes a succinct News Letter on a quarterly basis on October 1st, January 1st, April 1st and July 1st of each year. A News Letter contains current events of interest to Club members such as contests, tips to improve your public speaking, important dates and deadlines to remember, etc. Occassionally, it will also have past words of the day, a little joke or two, news of particular interest to one or more of our Club members. You can view them directly on our web site.
Our Parties
Our Club has two organized parties each year, one in the summer and one during the Christmas vacation. Both are "pot luck" with each member bringing enough food for five people in accordance with the first letter of their last name. The Club provides the meat, paper plates, utensils, napkins, condiments, etc. which keeps the price of the party at a very, very reasonable level. We have a lot of fun at our parties, and members usually bring spouses or best friends, and sometimes, guests and potential Club members.
Our Contests
Two times each year, in the fall and in the Spring, Toastmasters International sponsors two official contests - one a Humorous Speech and the other the International Speech. Along the way, Toastmasters mixes in Impromptu, Evaluation, Tall Tale, Mime and other contests which challenge our comfort zones and help us all to expand our abilities as well as a few horizons. These contests provide the members with competitive speaking opportunities unrivaled anywhere in the world.
