Made a trip to the Dealer Saturday (seems I only write here when I visit my dealer) to get my Microswitch replaced ("module" they keep correcting me).  My part number was a 05 and seems to work well.  You no longer have to search inside the top's hook hole for the switch as it is almost flush with the bottom of the hole now.  (Don't stop reading to go check yours yet....take a few deep breaths and continue) Any way a few thoughts from the trip:
When going in for the Top latch module.....DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ALL OF YOUR KEYS AND REGISTRATION.  They need to prove the car is yours before Atlanta HQ will give new codes to reprogram the alarm system.  The keys have to be reprogrammed every time this is done also.  Nice to know  they do this but a pain in the Butt.  I forgot my spare key (luckily my wife had the extra key) but the codes from PCNA were incorrect somewhere and wouldn't gel.  Until I make it back to Vegas I cannot use my key fobs.  Dang.  PCNA was shut down before we realized they were incorrect codes.
Also, while at Gaudin, a poor soul had his Boxster getting a new engine.  The car had about 2500 miles on it and the main oil seal kept leaking.  The box the engine came in was half the size of my suburban!  They said the engine comes completely ready to plug and play and that this was the first engine replacement in Nevada.  They had the car up on the hoist and the mechanic showed me all over the car.  Now that was fun.  He raised and lowered it and the entire engine compartment top to bottom was visible.  Very nice folks.  They took the time to point out all the specifics and showed me some of the special tools involved in reconnecting the tranny etc.  Amazing.  They had the under pan off and the back bumper, etc.  This car looked as well finished in the "hidden" areas as it does on the outside.  The Boxsters beauty is not merely skin deep :)
Oh yeah,  Had my oil changed after 6000 miles.  Mechanic said it looked just fine (even said sir) Has been in the 110 degree range here all month so I was a little worried about the oil. (Daily driving)  Price: $110.00  (one doller per degree of temperature???) with the ever-so-popular free, I mean Courtesy, car wash.  I know I know.......but they washed it courteously the first time I took it in (to my surprise) and upon close inspection they do a flawless job and a light detail job as well.  Of course it rained like crazy on the way home:)  Hats of the the Michelin Pilots in the rain.
Saw another load of Beetles on I-15.  But his time a truck full of new OLD ones!!!!!  Then I read somewhere that someone has brought them in to market right next to the new ones.  Go figure......go on...... go figure.

If I get up the courage I'll tell you about my first fender bender in 18 yrs of driving. Yes....in the BOXSTER $&*@#
