Utah's Color Country
Elk Meadows

Skiers are discovering Elk Meadows is the perfect place for a family ski vacation. Located high in the Tushar Mountains east of Beaver, Elk Meadows can please everyone in your family, from the little ones on the bunny slopes to the go-for-broke expert skier or snowboarder. The uncrowded and relaxed atmosphere is a nice getaway for anyone who appreciates secluded resort skiing.

Over 400 inches of fluffy snow a year blankets the resort, creating perfect powder skiing along the 30 wide, uncrowded runs, forested trails, and open bowls. "...the whole mountain is a powder stash," reports Powder Magazine's article listing Elk Meadows as one of the 20 best powder spots in the West. The resort's five lifts keep the lines short, giving you more time to ski!

Ski Magazine ranked Elk Meadows as one of the top areas in the country for the quality, service, and facilities for teaching children. Adults can take lessons, too. And child care is available for non-skiing children.

If you want a change of pace, you can rent a pair of cross country skis and head into the surrounding Fishlake National Forest. Snowmobile tours are available in the area. When the snow melts, you'll find scenic trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and excellent fishing in the nearby mountain lakes and streams.

Year-round lodging and accommodations are available in the resort village, as well as in nearby Beaver. Elk Meadows is located less than a four hour drive from Salt Lake City on the north and from Las Vegas on the south. To get to the resort, exit Interstate 15 at Beaver, then drive 17 miles east along Scenic Byway 153.
