One of the largest Anasazi communities west of the Colorado River can be found at the Anasazi Indian Village State Park located on Scenic Byway 12 in Boulder. Archaeologists believe the village was inhabited from A.D. 1050 to 1200.
Open year round, the park has a self-guided trail through the village. The park's museum features exhibits and artifacts mostly from the site.
The visitor center is being renovated and expanded to include an auditorium, increased display space, and a multi-agency information center.
The park is open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, May 16 through September 15, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the rest of the year. A picnic area adjoins the park.
