SUMMIT COUNTY
Park City/Kamas

Traveling through Summit County will take you from world-class ski and summer resorts, to rural farming communities, to lush forests dotted with lakes nestled below 13,000 foot mountain peaks. Located just 30 minutes east of Salt Lake City, Summit County is perhaps best known for the resort town of Park City and its three ski areasÐDeer Valley, Park City, and ParkWest. Here you'll find luxury resort hotels and fine dining, as well as moderately-priced accommodations. If you enjoy shopping, you won't want to miss the fascinating boutiques at Historic Main Street, the Resort Center, Old Town, or the Factory Stores @ Park City.

Near the turn of the century, Summit County was known for the silver discovered in what became one of the world's most productive silver mines. At the museum located in the old territorial jail on Historic Main Street in Park City, youÕll learn more about the history of this area.

East of Park City lie the picturesque rural communities of Kamas and Coalville. Kamas is the gateway to the Wasatch-Cache National Forest which offers camping, fishing, hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking. Here the High Uintas Wilderness Area boasts more than 460,000 acres of untamed high country, hundreds of lakes, and the highest point in Utah - 13,528 ft. King's Peak.
