Color Country Snow Skiing

Brian Head Ski and Summer Resort

The truly unique thing about Brian Head is its location - nestled in the beauty of red rock country but at a high elevation to take advantage of the abundant snowfall that has made Utah skiing famous.

The Brian Head Ski Area has 7 lifts serving 43 runs to please the first-day novice and the advanced skier or snow boarder. The newly installed state-of-the-art snowmaking equipment guarantees early season openings.

The resort area has several fine restaurants for apres-ski and, of course, excellent daytime facilities for making your ski vacation perfect. The resort makes available ski instruction, rentals, and child care.

For a change of pace, since Brian Head is only three miles from Cedar Breaks National Monument, take an excursion to a scenic overlook on cross country skis.

Brian Head is just 205 miles from Las Vegas and 254 miles from Salt Lake City. The resort has the complete lodging facilities and the same excellent snow conditions of the northern resorts in Utah, but it rarely has the congestion or long lift lines. During the summer, Brian Head town offers an impressive schedule of weekend events.

Getting there is easy. From Interstate 15 at Parowan on the west or from Panguitch on U.S. 89 from the east, take Highway 143, a route with such natural beauty that it has been designated as a Utah Scenic Byway. The broad expanse of mountain scenery with stands of majestic pines makes the trip to Brian Head enjoyable. With a base of 9400 feet, Brian Head is the highest incorporated city in Utah. Additional lodging is available close by in Parowan and Cedar City on I-15 or in Panguitch on U.S. 89.
