11. Woodward School
| The early settlers placed a high value on education; a wagon box beneath the cottonwoods was the first school facility. In 1898 Woodward School commenced construction. It was named after George Woodward, a childless resident, who donated $3,000 for hardware and glass. (Note the economical use of stone in the pattern of large and small blocks.) |
