Anthony W. Ivins was a prominent church and civic leader in early St. George. He was the city's mayor from April 1890 to January 1894. In 1895 he was elected as Washington County representative to the Utah Territorial Constitutional Convention. He later left St. George because of a church calling to colonize in Mexico.
