Document Actions

Yes. Outlook Express has an option to keep your connection active. To set this, open Outlook Express, and follow these steps:

  1. Click Tools, then click Options.
  2. Change where it says, "Check for new messages every 30 minutes" to every 5 minutes, and click OK.

This will tell your computer to check for email every 5 minutes, which will prevent the 10 minute idle disconnect. When you are finished with the Internet, we ask that you do not leave Outlook Express open, as this will leave you connected up to 8 hours at a time.
